Industrialist Anand Mahindra has extended a helping hand to Jaspreet, a 10-year-old boy whose poignant story captured hearts nationwide. Jaspreet was thrust into the role of managing his father's street-side stall in Delhi after the latter succumbed to brain tuberculosis.

The touching narrative of Jaspreet's resilience came to light through a viral video documented by food vlogger Sarabjeet Singh, also known as Mr.singhfoodhunter. Moved by the boy's plight, Mahindra, who celebrated his 68th birthday recently, sought to reach out to Jaspreet and offer support for his education through the Mahindra Foundation.

"Courage, thy name is Jaspreet, but his education shouldn’t suffer. I believe, he’s in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. If anyone has access to his contact number, please do share it," expressed Anand Mahindra on X (formerly Twitter), expressing his desire to assist the young boy. He further added, "The Mahindra foundation team will explore how we can support his education."

In the heartbreaking video, Jaspreet can be seen skillfully crafting chicken egg rolls at the stall, showcasing his culinary talents inherited from his late father. Despite facing immense loss and adversity, Jaspreet maintained a resilient spirit, with a smile never leaving his face as he shared his family's struggles with the vlogger.

Jaspreet, accompanied by his 14-year-old sister, currently resides with their uncle in Delhi, following their mother's relocation to Punjab. The young entrepreneur offers a diverse range of rolls at his stall, showcasing his dedication and determination to overcome the odds.

 

"I am the son of Guru Gobind Singh ji. I will fight as long as I have the strength," remarked Jaspreet when questioned by the food vlogger about his source of resilience amidst hardships.

The original video, shared by Sarabjeet Singh on Instagram, has garnered over nine million views, resonating deeply with viewers across the globe. Additionally, other prominent figures, including BJP leader Tajinder Bagga and AAP leader Jarnail Singh, an MLA from Delhi's Tilak Nagar, have pledged their support for Jaspreet's cause.
