In a shocking turn of events, a seemingly innocent sandwich turned into a health hazard for one customer in Ujjain. What was meant to be a delicious snack became a nightmarish discovery, as a man found a dead cockroach in his Paneer Tikka Sandwich ordered from Sagar Gare Restaurant.

Ravi Bedi, a customer from Ujjain, ordered a Paneer Tikka Sandwich online for a casual snack. However, his excitement quickly turned to disgust when he opened the sandwich at home and found a dead cockroach inside. Disturbed by this appalling sight, Ravi immediately contacted the restaurant owner, who admitted the mistake and offered a replacement. Despite the apology, Ravi was not satisfied and decided to report the incident to the local food department.

Shocking revelation: Food contamination concerns rise

Ravi’s complaint didn’t stop at the restaurant. He took the matter to the city's food department, where he formally registered his complaint. In response, officials raided the restaurant and seized the contaminated sandwiches. Ravi, in an interview, revealed that the restaurant had a reputation for serving unhealthy food, with other customers having voiced similar concerns in the past.

Food safety on the line: Another incident in Telangana

This isn't the first time such an incident has occurred in India. Recently, a task force from Telangana’s Food Safety Commissioner conducted inspections at two popular restaurants in the region. During the inspection, they discovered filthy exhaust fans dripping oil, dirty refrigerators, unlabeled boiled vegetables, and improperly cleaned utensils. Most alarmingly, they found that food waste was not being disposed of regularly, raising serious concerns about food safety practices.

A wake-up call for food safety standards

Ravi Bedi’s shocking discovery has sparked a larger conversation about food safety and hygiene in restaurants. As these incidents continue to surface, it’s clear that more stringent checks and regulations are needed to ensure public health is not compromised.
