New Delhi: In the monsoon session of the Parliament, the first after the formation of the NDA government for the third time, the session of July 2nd commenced after the President's address in Lok Sabha, BJP MP Anurag Thakur came down like thunder on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, saying for far too long he has enjoyed power without responsibility.

The Hamirpur MP questioned Rahul Gandhi's attendance record throughout the previous parliamentary sessions and the leader of the opposition's commitment to the parliamentary proceedings.

Cannot carry image of absentee, Thakur says

Thakur also raised questions about him sitting in the parliament, now he cannot carry his attitude of an absentee landlord like before. Now he has to work meticulously like the PM. With this comment, he congratulated the Gandhi scion on becoming Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha.

Launching his verbal canons on the opposition after their reaction to their successful performance in the elections, he reminded Congress that the party has not been able to cross the 100 mark so they are in no position to mock BJP, who has secured 240 plus seats and they are on the same trend that they started in 2014. 

Along the same lines, he raised questions on the speech delivered by Rahul Gandhi yesterday where he put a question mark on the Hindu religion, where Thakur asks him if he actually knows anything about the Vedas or the constitution that he carries around everywhere he goes.

The Lok Sabha session is on its second week of working since Monday, with debates on crucial issues that have occurred recently such as the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) paper leaks and the infamous Agnipath scheme are all set to take center stage.
