A Delhi couple's honeymoon plans were ruined by a Noida-based company, leading to them being liable to pay Rs 10 lakh. The company allegedly caused significant inconvenience and distress, prompting legal action.

What is the case all about?

In the year 2022, Delhi resident Ankit Gupta tied the knot. He and his partner deliberated over their honeymoon destination for some months. They jointly decided on the honeymoon location after extensive study and deliberation. Following this, Ankit obtained a Rs 5 lakh membership from a Noida company, wherein the business gave two individuals a five-year overseas package. Under such circumstances, Ankit and his spouse planned to visit Dubai, which would have been free per the company's policy.

Ankit had assumed that the Noida firm would handle everything and that they wouldn't encounter any issues while on their honeymoon, but things did not turn out the way Ankit had anticipated. Actually, on November 15, 2022, the two of them completed their travel plans. Ankit then revealed that the Noida company had promised to make additional plans, such as reserving hotels and tickets. They were both surprised when they arrived in Dubai despite their trust in the company. According to the company's promises, nothing occurred. In no manner had the corporation made any hotel or taxi arrangements. Additionally, no reservations were made.

Here’s what the couple revealed

According to the sources, Ankit further revealed that he and her spouse were dependent on the business and thought that the company would make all the bookings, but that was not the case. No assistance was provided, despite reaching out to the company multiple times.

Upon realizing that the Noida firm had deceived them, the couple decided to create positive memories while on their honeymoon and later compelled to use their funds to reserve a hotel room for five days and paid for additional costs as well. They even covered the price of the flight.

A young man from Delhi initially filed a justice complaint with the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission against the Noida company after returning from Dubai. Nevertheless, Ankit has won the decision. The commission intervened in this issue and demanded that the business will reimburse Ankit for Rs 10 lakh plus 9% interest.

Meanwhile, it is important to note that this situation highlights the impact of service failures on personal plans and the potential legal repercussions for the responsible parties.
