The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted a slight to moderate rainfall in the second week of April following the celebrations of the festival of Ugadi, relieving the residents from the stifling heatwave across the city.IMD has informed that the heatwave across the city may worsen before the initial rain, which is a week away. A peak heat wave is forecasted throughout Bengaluru and its neighbouring districts.According to a senior scientist from IMD, the rainfall will start in isolated areas of Bengaluru and then spread throughout, with rainfall becoming heavier in the later days following the beginning of Ugadi.Officials have noted that moderate rainfall would be widespread, with gutsy winds and thunderstorms, inconsistent throughout areas.
