New Delhi: Elon Musk is recognized for his unconventional thinking, which some view as innovative while others find puzzling. This mindset has played a significant role in developing the much-talked-about Tesla Cybertruck. The Cybertruck has generated considerable conversation due to its distinctive design and functionality. While many enthusiasts praise its innovative features, critics have raised concerns about its safety. The vehicle's polarizing appearance has made it a focal point in discussions about the future of electric vehicles.

DaBaby's album cover features Cybertruck

In a recent development, American rapper Jonathan Lyndale Kirk, known as DaBaby, unveiled an album cover that prominently features the Tesla Cybertruck. According to an account on X (formerly Twitter) called Tesla Newswire, this album cover acts as free advertising for Tesla, potentially reaching approximately 4.3 million DaBaby followers.

A Tesla investor on X noted, "Rapper DaBaby, who has over 35 million monthly listeners, released his new album cover with a Cybertruck. His most-viewed music video ever has 544 million views on YouTube." This highlights the significant exposure the Cybertruck is receiving through popular culture. The investor also mentioned that rapper Meek Mill released a new song titled "Cybertruck" the same night, indicating the vehicle's rising prominence in hip-hop culture.

Elon Musk reacts

Elon Musk responded to the investor's post with enthusiasm, expressing his thoughts through emojis. He reacted with two fire emojis, signaling his approval of the Cybertruck's presence in popular media.

Sales and market reception of the Cybertruck

The Tesla Cybertruck has stirred mixed reactions within the automotive community. Reports indicate that as of July 2024, Tesla, under Musk's leadership, had sold approximately 11,558 units of the Cybertruck. However, it's worth noting that in late June 2024, the company issued a recall for some units due to malfunctioning windscreen wipers, raising concerns about quality control.

Price comparison in the truck market

Price is another critical factor influencing the Cybertruck's market position. In comparison, vehicles like the Mahindra Bolero Camper are priced around ₹10 to ₹11 lakh, while the popular Isuzu D-Max ranges from ₹11.55 to ₹12.40 lakh. In contrast, the Tesla Cybertruck starts at around ₹50 lakh, positioning it as a premium option in the truck segment.
