The incident occurred on the night of February 19 at around 11 PM when a man booked a Rapido cab from Surya Vihar, Dundahera, Gurgaon, for his pregnant wife. Their destination was a hospital in Vikas Nagar, Sector 10, Gurgaon. However, as they were en route, the woman went into labor unexpectedly. Understanding the urgency of the situation, driver Vikas acted swiftly and, alongside the woman's husband, assisted in the delivery right inside the cab. Without wasting a moment, he then ensured the mother and newborn reached the hospital safely.

No extra charges for his extraordinary help

Following the incident, the woman’s husband shared his gratitude through a Reddit post. He wrote, “I had booked a Rapido ride for my cook and his pregnant wife. On the way to the hospital, she experienced unbearable labor pains and delivered the baby inside the cab. The driver, with my cook’s help, assisted in the delivery and later dropped them at the hospital. He charged only the fare displayed in the app and did not ask for extra money.”

Online search to reward the driver

The Reddit user also expressed his desire to reward Vikas for his noble deed but was unable to retrieve his contact details after the ride ended. He appealed to Rapido and co-founder Pavan Guntupalli to help locate the driver, stating, “We want to do something for the driver, but we lost his contact after the ride. I request Rapido and Pavan Guntupalli to assist us in finding him.”
