An 8-foot-long crocodile was seen on a road in Maharashtra's Ratnagiri on Sunday night. Locals believe the reptile came from the nearby Shiva River, which is home to several crocodiles. According to PTI, an autorickshaw driver filmed the video in the Chinchnaka area of Chiplun town amid a steady downpour, an official confirmed.
In the video, several vehicles are visible, with an autorickshaw closely following the crocodile with its headlights on. Locals suspect that heavy rainfall caused the crocodile to leave the Shiva River, which flows through the city and is known for its crocodile population.

A similar incident occurred last year in Vadodara, where a 12-foot crocodile was spotted on a road near the Vishwamitri river as the monsoon season began. The crocodile had emerged from the river, a common occurrence in the area during the monsoon. Forest officials later captured the reptile and released it back into the river.
