Gruesome assault unveiled

The harrowing video footage exposes the harrowing ordeal suffered by the tribal youth, who was subjected to a horrifying assault involving stripping and relentless beating with belts and sticks by a gang of perpetrators. The victim, identified as Raju Uikey, bravely came forward to lodge a formal complaint with local authorities following the dissemination of the distressing video clip.

Arrests made in response

Responding swiftly to the public outcry and the viral spread of the video, authorities at the Betul police station took immediate action, initiating an investigation into the incident. The perpetrators, identified as two men allegedly involved in the savage attack, have since been apprehended and detained for further questioning as the probe unfolds.

Victim's account of terror

In his harrowing testimony, the victim recounts the traumatic ordeal endured at the hands of his assailants.

"I run a food stall," Raju Uikey recounted in his police complaint, "These people have been trying to extort money from me every week. I did not accept their demands and therefore I was beaten." Describing the horrific events of November 16th last year, Raju elaborated, "My friend Rinkesh Chouhan took me to Betul at the house of another man. In the house, five or six others were present. They threatened me and stripped me naked. I was hung from the ceiling. They thrashed me with belts and sticks for hours."

Despite enduring continuous brutality, Raju persisted in his refusal to succumb to the extortion demands, asserting, "I cannot pay money to you every week. I own a small shop and have a family to feed."

Demand for accountability

The appalling incident has cast a spotlight on the prevalence of violence and intimidation faced by tribal communities in the region. Madhya Pradesh Congress president Jitu Patwari, appalled by the brutality inflicted upon Raju Uikey, has called for swift action and accountability, urging Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to take decisive steps to address the underlying issues contributing to such heinous acts of violence.

As investigations continue and efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice intensify, the disturbing episode serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for societal reforms and heightened vigilance to safeguard the rights and dignity of marginalized communities across Madhya Pradesh and beyond.
