As soon as this news comes out, people are calling it smuggling. The story came to light on March 24 when anti-trafficking activist Shangguan Zhengyi shared the details on social media.
Sharing her story, the activist said the teenager from Sichuan province, born in 2007, underwent the surrogacy process through an agency in Guangzhou and gave birth to the child on February 2 in Guangdong province. In his story, he said that when this girl embryo was transplanted, she was only 16 years old. The 50-year-old man's surname was Long. The data was shared by the activist and said that Long had requested twin boys from the agency.
According to the report, Long signed a deal worth 730,000 yuan (Rs 81 lakh) with Junlan Medical Equipment Company, although he paid more than 900,000 yuan (Rs 1 crore) in all. As such, he posed as the girl's husband to obtain a birth certificate and household registration. While there is no news yet about how much money this girl received for this work!
Legal experts have expressed concern over the matter, but there is no clear law in China, but there are several government regulations that prohibit the practice. When these things went viral, everyone reacted to it. One wrote, "My heart is really sad after knowing all this," while the other wrote that this world is now only for the people of money. Another wrote that strict action should be taken against such people.
