In honor of India’s victory over South Africa in the T20 World Cup final on June 29, the employment company Xpheno declared July 1 as a holiday for the business. The Indian cricket team ended a 17-year wait to reclaim their title as T20 champions, defeating South Africa by 7 runs in the final match in Barbados. The company hailing from Bangalore employs more than 500 people, according to its LinkedIn profile.

Many employees of the company were surprised by such an announcement by the company as the first day of the month is usually busy as there is a look of payroll closures and billings to be done, but a big win demands a big celebration. So, I order to how their happiness and appreciation for the Indian cricket team, the company declared a holiday on July 1, 2024 for their boys in blue. 

On Saturday, Virat Kohli played a crucial role by scoring a remarkable 76 runs off 59 balls, recovering from a 34 for three-wicket situation during the powerplay. This led to India’s final score of 176 for seven wickets, securing their victory over South Africa. In the final over, when South Africa needed 7 more runs, Suryakumar Yadav made an exceptional catch off a hit from David Miller, sealing the win.

After a challenging final match, the team, led by Rohit Sharma, celebrated for nearly four hours at the Kensington Oval stadium in Barbados, West Indies. Alongside the celebrations, Virat Kohli and team captain Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from the T20 International cricket format. Renowned fielder Ravindra Jadeja also announced his retirement from T20 International cricket on the same day.

The team received congratulations from prominent figures, including Rahul Gandhi, President Droupadi Murmu, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, representing all the supporters in India.
