There are many types of diseases in the world, some of which people don't even know about, because those diseases happen to only one out of millions of people. Sometimes even doctors are shocked, because they too have never heard about such diseases before. Now just think, if a person came to you and asked you to cut off his fingers, how would you feel? Obviously you will be shocked. Something similar happened with a Canadian doctor also.

Why Canadian man wants to cut his fingers?

According to the report of the website Oddity Central, Dr. Nadia Nadeau of the Department of Psychiatry at Laval University has recently published a case report about an unknown patient, in which she has told that the patient has been experiencing painful thoughts since childhood. He felt as if the last two fingers of his left hand were missing from his body.

She told that the patient was going crazy thinking that both his fingers were rotting or burning. The strangest thing was that due to embarrassment he did not even tell his family about his serious problem, but he always thought that he would remove those fingers himself.

What is BIID?

The patient was suffering from a disease called Body Integrity Identity Disorder (BIID). This is an extremely rare condition in which the patient has a strong and persistent desire to become disabled. BIID can affect any part of the body, including legs, arms, fingers, toes, eyes, ears, and teeth.
