The issue of exorbitant taxi fares has once again captured national attention, with Bengaluru emerging as the latest focal point of this ongoing debate. A woman named Manasvi Sharma recently took to social media to recount a peculiar incident that occurred in the city.

In her social media post, Manasvi expressed her dismay at being charged an excessively high fare for a late-night ride from the airport to her residence in Bengaluru. She shared her experience in a sarcastic tone, stating, “I booked a flight for 3.5k from Pune to Bangalore. And then, a cab for 2k from Bangalore airport to my home,” accompanied by a skull emoji.

A screenshot attached to Manasvi's post revealed that the ride-hailing service Uber had quoted her a minimum fare of Rs. 2,005 for the journey, which was categorized as “Affordable, compact rides.”
