An engaged man from Amravati, Maharashtra, made national news when the second round of voting for the Lok Sabha Elections 2024 got underway for a very special reason. The bridegroom and his family were seen at the polls on his wedding day, casting ballots for their preferred party. The bridegroom, seen with his mother and uncle, was seen sporting a turban and traditional sherwani. To fulfill their civic obligations, the three arrived early in the morning and then went to the wedding location. After ANI posted the video on X, it soon went viral and received over 45,000 views, attracting the interest of social media users.

The grooms's conviction says it all!

The groom is heard stating, that the Marriage can wait, but voting is more crucial, in the video. The groom said that the wedding muhurat is set at 2:00 PM when questioned about it. The groom reveals that the bride is from a different neighborhood as the film goes on. "A groom comes at his allocated polling station in the Vadarpura region of Amravati to cast his vote in the Maharashtra Lok Sabha elections," the news portal said, sharing the footage. Eight parliamentary constituencies are taking part in the state's second round of Lok Sabha elections.

Election at its peak

One commenter says the groom is advocating for improvement and harmony in the community. In the 18th Lok Sabha elections, 88 seats from 13 states and union territories took part in the second round of voting. Kerala accounted for all 20 seats, Karnataka for 14 of the 28 seats, Rajasthan for 13 seats, Maharashtra for 8 seats, and Uttar Pradesh for 8 seats. Assam and Bihar each had five seats, while Madhya Pradesh had seven. In addition, Manipur, Tripura, Jammu and Kashmir, and West Bengal each held three seats, while Chhattisgarh and West Bengal had one seat each.

Voting is expected to run until 5 PM, with the first round beginning at 7 AM.
