Just a month ago, a female resident physician accused a male nursing officer of molestation in the OT. This serious allegation led to a three-day boycott by the resident physicians. The latest incident has only intensified these conflicts, with the AIIMS administration expressing their disapproval of the violence and taking immediate action.Immediate suspension and investigationThe AIIMS administration responded by suspending the accused resident physician immediately. An investigation into the matter has been launched to determine the details of the fight and to take appropriate action. Calls for Better Safety MeasuresFollowing the previous incident of alleged molestation, AIIMS had promised to develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure the safety of all employees. However, the SOPs had not been finalized before this latest altercation occurred. The Nursing Professional Development Association has now given an ultimatum, threatening to go on a silent strike from Tuesday if safety measures are not implemented promptly.
