The anticipation is palpable as the 71st edition of the prestigious Miss World pageant returns to India after a hiatus of nearly three decades. The grand finale, set to take place on March 9 at the illustrious Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai, promises to be a spectacular celebration of beauty, grace, and empowerment.

The event commenced on February 18, with contestants from around the globe vying for the coveted crown. At the culmination of the competition, the reigning Miss World, Karolina Bielawska of Poland, will pass the baton to her successor, ushering in a new era of global representation.

Venue of the 71st Miss World:

Initially slated to be held in the United Arab Emirates, as announced by Julia Morley, chairperson of the Miss World Organisation, in February 2023, the venue was later changed to the Jio Convention Centre in Mumbai, marking the pageant's triumphant return to Indian shores.

Representing India at the 71st Miss World is the stunning Sini Shetty, who clinched the Femina Miss India 2022 title. Adding to the glitz and glamour, the mega event will be hosted by Bollywood's celebrated figure, Karan Johar, and Megan Young, the Miss World 2013 titleholder.

The distinguished panel of twelve judges includes esteemed personalities such as Julia Morley, Sajid Nadiadwala, Harbhajan Singh, Rajat Sharma, and Amruta Fadnavis. Bollywood stars Kriti Sanon and Pooja Hegde will also grace the judging panel, adding their expertise to the prestigious event.

As the excitement builds, Sony LIV's social media handles have announced the date and time for viewers to witness the grand spectacle. "Witness the grand return of Miss World to India after 28 years! Celebrate the union of beauty and purpose as we showcase the grace and talent of participants on stage," read the Facebook post, inviting audiences to be a part of this momentous occasion.

The ceremony will be streamed live on the Sony LIV application on March 9, starting at 7:30 PM, allowing viewers worldwide to partake in the celebration.

The event promises an exciting lineup of performances, with celebrated artists like Shaan, Neha Kakkar, Tony Kakkar, and Toni-Ann Singh set to enthrall the audience with their talent.

Adding to the anticipation, Polish model Karolina Bielawska, the Miss World 2021 titleholder, will grace the stage to crown her successor, marking the culmination of a remarkable journey and the dawn of a new era in the world of beauty pageants.
