New Delhi: A shocking video has surfaced on social media showing a young man being brutally thrashed with slippers, kicks, and punches inside a crowded Kumbh Mela Special Train. The viral clip, recorded by a fellow passenger, has sparked a wave of reactions online. Reports suggest that the altercation broke out over seating arrangements in the train's passageway.

Seat dispute turns violent

The footage captures a young man, seen chewing gutkha, engaged in a heated argument with two elderly passengers. With the train packed beyond capacity, several commuters, including a woman holding a child, were seated in the passageway.

The verbal spat quickly escalated into a physical fight, with the elderly man repeatedly hitting the youth with slippers and landing punches on his face. The most striking moment, which caught netizens’ attention, was when the youth was slapped with a slipper directly on his mouth while still chewing gutkha.

Internet reacts to the Bizarre train fight

Social media erupted with amusement and mockery over the incident. One viral post read: “Zubaan Kesari par chale Baba ke chappal!” (Baba’s slipper landed straight on the saffron-stained tongue!,  “Public transport in India never fails to entertain.” “When gutkha chewing meets Indian rail fights—pure chaos!” Despite the scuffle unfolding in a packed train, no bystanders intervened to stop the fight. The altercation eventually subsided on its own, with the passengers settling back in the overcrowded space.

No police action reported

There have been no reports of any police intervention in the matter. Fortunately, the woman and her child, who were seated nearby, were unharmed as no one fell on them during the fight. This incident highlights the challenges of overcrowding in Indian trains, especially during large-scale events like the Kumbh Mela, where securing a seat often leads to heated confrontations.
