The viral clip, recorded by a fellow passenger, has sparked a wave of reactions online. Reports suggest that the altercation broke out over seating arrangements in the train's passageway.

Seat dispute turns violent

The footage captures a young man, seen chewing gutkha, engaged in a heated argument with two elderly passengers. With the train packed beyond capacity, several commuters, including a woman holding a child, were seated in the passageway.

The verbal spat quickly escalated into a physical fight, with the elderly man repeatedly hitting the youth with slippers and landing punches on his face. The most striking moment, which caught netizens’ attention, was when the youth was slapped with a slipper directly on his mouth while still chewing gutkha.

There have been no reports of any police intervention in the matter. Fortunately, the woman and her child, who were seated nearby, were unharmed as no one fell on them during the fight.
