Following the incident, Uber has taken swift action, permanently removing the driver from its platform.The woman, identified as Tayla Pimlott from Adelaide, recounted her harrowing experience, stating that she observed the driver masturbating while behind the wheel. Pimlott described the moment, saying, Usually, when someone takes their pants down, they ruffle down a bit or something. I saw none of that, I just saw this subtle hand gesture. She further added, I could see clearly that he had his p***s out and he was masturbating.The distressing incident unfolded as Pimlott was commuting home from work in Adelaides central business district. She noticed the drivers inappropriate behaviour when he momentarily looked up from her phone.Despite being horrified by what she witnessed, Pimlott refrained from confronting the driver out of fear for her safety. Instead, she quickly alerted her mother via text messages, sharing details of the unsettling situation and providing her mother with a live link to track her Uber ride. Additionally, Pimlott recorded the drivers actions on her phone as evidence.Reflecting on the incident, Pimlott expressed her deep concern, stating, There was a part of me that thought, Oh god, I could die, I could be raped, this man could touch me. My brain was frozen and my heart was pounding... I was petrified.Following Pimlotts report to the authorities, the driver was arrested but later released on bail, as per her claims. The traumatic experience has left Pimlott shaken, with a lingering sense of fear that has impacted her daily life. She emphasised that she would never use Uber again due to the ordeal.In response to the disturbing incident, Uber issued a statement condemning the drivers actions and confirming his permanent removal from the app. The statement read, Whats been reported has no place in the Uber community or anywhere else. As soon as we were notified of this report, we removed the driver partners access to the app immediately and permanently.
