A soldier tasked with safeguarding the nation's borders found himself embroiled in a bitter land dispute back home. In a video that quickly went viral, he issued a stern warning to the district administration, expressing his resolve to protect his family at any cost. "A soldier who can protect the country's borders from enemies can also protect his wife and children," he declared. He emphasized that if the administration failed to provide justice, he would resort to any means necessary, even if it meant imprisonment or death.

Echoes of 'Paan Singh Tomar'

The situation eerily mirrors the plot of the film "Paan Singh Tomar," where a soldier turns into a bandit due to unresolved land disputes and a lack of justice. This real-life drama unfolded in Ballampur village, within the Aunchha police station's jurisdiction. The soldier, in his video, revealed that he had purchased a thousand-square-meter plot in his wife's name, which was now under threat from encroachment by local villagers associated with the Jagdish group.

Assault and Humiliation

The conflict escalated when the accused villagers prevented the measurement of the land and even assaulted the soldier’s wife, tearing her clothes and humiliating her. Despite these grave offenses, the local Aunchha police detained the soldier for 27-28 hours instead of taking action against the aggressors. He recounted multiple futile visits to the District Magistrate and the Superintendent of Police, where his pleas for justice were repeatedly redirected back to the police, who, in turn, blamed him.

Allegations of Police Collusion

Further complicating matters, the soldier, identified as Rajkaran, was fined for disturbing the peace. He recounted an incident from last December when the accused misbehaved with his mother. Despite his deployment at the border during the incident, the Aunchha police charged him with disturbing the peace after he reported the incident on a government portal. Rajkaran accused the local police of collusion with the accused, asserting that they were denying him justice and instead targeting him.
