A strange incident happening on a beach in Iran has created a stir on social media. Amid heavy rains, the colour of the water on the beach suddenly turned red, which people started calling "rain of blood". People are getting different reactions to this bizarre scene. Some people were taking it as a joke, while some expressed fear about it. But what exactly is this phenomenon?
What is 'rain of blood'?
The video had gone viral a few days ago, but it was first posted on Instagram by a tour guide on February 22. The video showed that red mud was coming to the beach with heavy rains, and as this soil meets the sea water, the sea water also turned red. The tour guide captioned the video: "Heavy rain begins on the famous red beach of Hermoz."
On February 8, he shared another video that showed beautiful pictures of heavy rain and red beach.
As soon as the video went viral, people started giving different reactions on social media. Some users jokingly called it a "rain of blood". One user wrote, "Something strange happened in Iran! ' 'Shower of blood' means God is angry."
At the same time, another user explained the exact reason for this, writing, "This is not a rain of blood, it is happening due to red soil which contains iron oxide."
Some users were commenting positively about it, considering it an example of natural beauty. One wrote, "The heart rejoices to see this beauty made by God. He is the best painter in the world."
What is the real story behind Blood Rain?
This scene is neither a mysterious phenomenon, nor is it the result of any sudden change in the weather. Actually, this phenomenon is due to a special element present in the soil there. According to the Tourism Board of Iran, the cause of this phenomenon is the high amount of iron oxide present in the soil. This reddish soil also turns red when it comes in contact with sea water. It is a natural process, in which the red soil on the beach and the sea water combine to create a fascinating and wonderful view.
