YouTube Premium is now available in ten additional countries. The well-known video streaming behemoth's paid tier was previously accessible in a lot of places, but Google has now extended it even further, allowing users to purchase the subscription in 100 different countries. In all of the recently added nations, the internet giant has also launched its more reasonably priced student plans in addition to its basic membership tiers.

Growth premium tier

Notably, this growth occurred nine years after the launch of YouTube's premium tier, in February 2024, when YouTube Premium surpassed 100 million subscribers. Android Police was the first to notice the global expansion. According to the publication, Google has added 10 more nations to the list of possible locations and updated the information about YouTube Premium on its support page. Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Libya, Morocco, Réunion, Tanzania, Uganda, Yemen, and Zimbabwe are some of these places. According to the listing, this raises the overall number of countries where the premium subscription is offered to 100. The service is currently only accessible in 99 countries because Russia has temporarily disabled it.

A varied plan!

According to reports, in addition to the basic individual plan, YouTube Premium will provide family and student plans in all ten countries, allowing users to subscribe at a lower price. Higher education schools offer the student plan to full-time students. However, a third-party verification service will confirm their position as students once a year. With the family subscription, which is somewhat more expensive than the individual plan, customers can add up to five family members who are at least 13 to the Google family group and benefit from a single subscription.

Limitless all the way!

Users can enjoy benefits like limitless ad-free video streaming, offline video downloads, and picture-in-picture background play when they subscribe to YouTube Premium. Additionally, a YouTube Music membership is included.

When recurring payments are enabled, the monthly cost of the YouTube Premium subscription in India is Rs. 129. It also includes a two-month complimentary trial. Monthly prepaid memberships begin at Rs. 139. The monthly cost of the student plan is Rs. 79, while the family plan is priced at Rs. 189. There is a free trial period of one month for both options.
