The company has announced that creators who promote uncertified gambling apps and websites will be banned from the platform. Along with this, the company will also block the accounts of those creators who show the logo or link of gambling services unapproved by Google in their content.

YouTube said that this decision will affect the creators who create gambling content, including casino games and apps, but this is a necessary step to protect the community and especially the young audience. Let us tell you that redirecting viewers to gambling sites and apps was previously considered a violation of the rules, but now even if a creator claims to get guaranteed returns from any gambling site or app, his content will be removed from the platform.

New rules will be implemented from March 19

Along with this, YouTube will put age restrictions on those videos which promote any online casino site or app. Such videos will not be shown to viewers who are signed out and under the age of 18. All these rules will come into effect from March 19. Let us tell you that Google has a strict policy regarding online gambling. In India, the company has banned gambling related advertisements and also does not allow promotion of online casino games.

The traffic of online gambling sites is in crores

A large number of people visit online gambling sites in India every month. A report by the Digital India Foundation states that four illegal gambling sites recorded about 4.3 crore visits in three months through advertisements on social media platforms. Apart from this, more than 100 crore visits have also been recorded on these sites through direct URLs.
