Xiaomi India is celebrating a decade of operations in the country this year with a series of initiatives aimed at enhancing the customer experience and community welfare. As part of its anniversary celebrations, the company has launched Mobile Service Camps across all Xiaomi Service Centres. Announced through social media platforms, this program offers Xiaomi users complimentary mobile health checkups, free software updates, and significant discounts on spare parts for handset repairs.The Mobile Service Camps campaign commenced on July 1st and will continue until July 31st, providing Xiaomi smartphone owners with essential services such as health diagnostics and firmware updates at no cost. This initiative is part of Xiaomis strategy to directly engage with its customer base, ensuring their devices are well-maintained and updated with the latest features.In addition to these service offerings, Xiaomi India unveiled the Swasth Mahila Swasth Bharat campaign on June 26th in collaboration with the Yuvraj Singh Foundation (YouWeCan). This initiative aims to conduct early cancer screenings for more than 150,000 women across 15 states in India over the next year, underscoring Xiaomis commitment to social welfare alongside its business milestones.Xiaomi made its foray into the Indian smartphone market in 2014 with the launch of the Mi 3 handset. Since then, it has expanded its footprint significantly, establishing seven manufacturing facilities in India capable of producing three smartphones per second. The company emphasises that 99 percent of the smartphones sold in India are manufactured locally, with 65 percent of their value sourced from domestic suppliers.In December 2023, Xiaomi initiated a pilot project to export smartphones to neighbouring countries like Bangladesh and Nepal, aiming to strengthen its regional presence and contribute further to the regions digital connectivity.
