X/@Write
X, the popular microblogging platform formerly known as Twitter, has introduced a new feature named 'Articles,' allowing users to share extensive written content. However, this feature comes with a catch—it's exclusively available to paid subscribers. The company stated that only X Premium+ members or verified organizations currently have access to this feature, with no confirmation regarding its future availability to non-paying users.
In an announcement made on X, the platform revealed that the 'Articles' feature will be accessible to X Premium+ subscribers and verified organizations starting March 8. This feature enables them to compose and share long-form content directly with their followers. Users can access the Article composer from the sidebar in the web version of X, located under the 'Articles' section.

The 'Articles' feature offers various formatting options, including bold, italic, and strikethrough text, as well as the ability to create bullet points and numbered lists. Moreover, users can embed images, videos, or other X posts within their Articles. According to an Engadget report, Articles can contain up to 100,000 characters or approximately 15,000 words.
Published Articles will appear on the user's profile under a dedicated 'Articles' tab and will also be visible on their followers' timelines. To distinguish Articles from regular X posts, they will feature a unique icon and layout.
Users will have the flexibility to edit or delete their Articles after publication. To edit a published Article, users can navigate to the relevant Article or the Published timeline in the Article Composer, click on the three-dot menu, select 'Edit Article,' and confirm the changes. Deleting an Article is similarly straightforward, with the option available under the three-dot menu.
