Elon Musk has said that the monthly users of social media platform X, which was formerly known as Twitter, has hit a ‘new high’.

In the tweet shared on his official account on Friday, the Tesla CEO posted a graph of user statistics that showed the recent user count as being over 540 million.

“𝕏 monthly users reach new high in 2023. Chart is 1/1 to yesterday,” the Twitter CTO wrote.

“Also, this is after the removal of a vast number of bots,” Musk added.

The recent usage statistics can be compared to the figures released by Musk right after his takeover of the platform in October. The tech billionaire had posted in November 2022, that the monthly active users count for Twitter in May 2022 was 229 million. The figure had jumped to 259.4 daily active users in November.

Twitter, now X, goes through massive changes under Elon Musk

The recent positive usage statistics come as the social media giant goes through massive organisational changes, with an entire rebranding process going on, as well as efforts to rejuvenate the dropping advertising revenues in recent months.

Recently, as part of his ongoing rebranding process, Musk shared that ‘x.com’ would redirect to the Twitter homepage, which has run afoul of Indonesia’s anti-pornography laws.

The social media platform has also released its updated logo and name for its Android and iOS apps, although the Mac and Windows apps have been left untouched till now.

Despite the massive efforts required at rebranding such a well-known brand name and image, Musk has reiterated his commitment to the change, tweeting, “And soon we shall bid adieu to the twitter brand and, gradually, all the birds.”
