The primary reason for this unprecedented action was the proliferation of content related to child sexual exploitation and non-consensual nudity, necessitating a stringent response from the platform.

Crackdown on Terrorism and Policy Violations

In tandem with combating explicit content, X Corp also purged 1,235 accounts that were found to be promoting terrorism on its platform in India. This proactive stance underlines the platform's commitment to eradicating online threats and safeguarding user experience across the digital landscape.

X Corp diligently adhered to the provisions outlined in the new IT Rules of 2021, as evidenced by its release of a comprehensive monthly report. Throughout the designated period, the platform actively addressed 5,158 complaints lodged by Indian users through its structured grievance redressal mechanisms, ensuring transparency and accountability in its operations.

Resolution of Account Suspension Appeals

Furthermore, X Corp meticulously reviewed and processed 86 grievances related to appeals against account suspensions. Of these, the platform overturned 7 suspensions following thorough assessments, underscoring its commitment to fairness and due process in handling user-related issues.

In addition to complaint resolution, the platform also attended to 29 general inquiries concerning account-related matters from Indian users during the reporting phase, showcasing its responsiveness to user queries and feedback.

Common Complaints 

The most prevalent grievances reported by Indian users comprised ban evasion, instances of hateful conduct, the presence of sensitive adult content, and incidents of abuse or harassment.
