On Monday at its 2023 Worldwide Developers Conference, technology giant Apple finally unveiled its first augmented reality headset, the Apple Vision Pro. The Vision Pro is positioned as primarily an augmented reality (AR) gadget, but it can toggle between augmented and full virtual reality using a dial, as per sources.

You may navigate rows of app icons on the smartphone without a controller by simply staring at them. You have the option to use voice commands in addition to tapping to choose and flicking to scroll. Apple assures you that you are not disconnected from those around you. With a feature called EyeSight, the headset will show your eyes, and if you’re using full virtual reality, a bright screen will cover them to indicate you’re not available.

CEO Tim Cook described the product as “the first Apple product you look through, not at.” The headset has seen numerous modifications and years of delays while being developed for years. It’s intended to be Apple CEO Tim Cook’s distinctive upgrade to the company’s product line.

Google Glass, Magic Leap, Microsoft’s HoloLens, and Meta’s Quest Pro are just a few examples of previous virtual reality products that were either commercial flops or only marginal triumphs. And businesses have so far been unable to show how vital virtual reality is.

Analysts do not believe that the Vision Pro, which will be on sale early in the next year, will initially have a great appeal to the general public. The $3,500 (Rs 2,88,000 approximately) cost might put off a lot of buyers.
