As per latest reports, WhatsApp is working on a similar feature in which users can mention their contacts in their status updates. Yes, you read it right!
According to the report of WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is working on a feature to privately mention contacts in status updates. This feature will allow users to directly inform selected contacts by mentioning them in their status updates, thereby confirming that this contact remains mentioned in your status. However, work on this feature is currently underway. But information about this has come to light. According to the report, WhatsApp is working on a new interface to inform people when it is mentioned in a status update, which is set to be introduced in a future update of the app.
Mentioned contacts in status updates will remain private, which means that other viewers of the status will not be able to see who has been mentioned in the status. Apart from this, WhatsApp is working on many more feature updates which can be launched soon for the convenience of the users.
Out of this, WhatsApp is preparing to introduce a feature to clear the count of unread messages in a new feature update. According to the report of WABetaInfo, a screenshot has also been shared to show how this feature will work. According to the screenshot, whenever WhatsApp is opened, it can give a new option to clear unread messages, it will be started in the upcoming update. Through this feature, users will be able to automatically reset their unread message notifications every time the app is opened.
