This time the developers of WhatsApp are coming up with a new feature. The well-known messaging platform is developing a new feature termed Lock Chat. The company is using the beta version of the Android feature to test the functionality of the new feature. With the help of this feature, users will be able to lock their profile conversations inside the chat’s contact and group information.
The addition of this feature will increase the privacy of the user by giving them total control over who may see the private conversations. According to the sources, the feature will help the user to secure their chats. In this, the user will be requested to clear the chat before viewing it if someone tries to use their phone without giving the required credentials. The function will also prevent images and videos from being automatically stored in the mobile phone’s gallery if they are sent in locked chats.
However, the company has not made any official announcement about this new Lock feature. With the extra layer of security, the user will be able to stop the sensitive media from being read by anybody but the intended receiver.
As the feature is already under development, the release date for the same has not been disclosed so far. Yet, this function will allow the user to have more control over the chat and material on their phone.
Notably, WhatsApp has recently been concerned about privacy security in the wake of new privacy standards. To assure its users that their information is confidential, the company has been working on it continuously.
WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps that allow a user to chat, call and share files over the internet. But according to the people who are known to the subject have reported that the developers may shift the navigation bar to the bottom of the main page of the app. It also suggests that the changes are in the process after the request from a user.
The anticipated update was discovered in WhatsApp for Android’s most recent beta version (v2.23.8.4) and may soon make its way into the stable version. This is incredibly convenient because users with large phones might be able to navigate the many tabs with just one hand. It should be mentioned that the next upgrade is presently in development and will be made accessible along with other enhancements in a future edition of the app, so we will need to wait.
It is also been reported that since the beginning of this year, WhatsApp developers have been working on new features in the app. The features will include the ability to lock individual chats, video messages for iPhone users, voice notes as status updates, approve new group participants and more.
WhatsApp has developed this feature for some time now. The chat will be marked with a green verified badge, which will contain tips and tricks, and how to use the app along with information on new features and updates by the company. The verified badge will signify that the chat is legitimate. This assures the user that their chat is safe and will also help them prevent falling victim to scams or phishing attempts on WhatsApp.
With the help of this feature, the user will be able to receive direct updates from WhatsApp. Instead of searching manually, the user will be able to get the most recent information automatically. If the user does not want to receive any notification from the WhatsApp official chat, they can also mute, archive, or block the chat according to their convenience.
