A ban on Apple watches in the United States has come after the White House refused to overturn the measures seeking to defend a business that generates roughly $17 billion a year.

According to the reports, International Trade Commission (ITC) of the United States decided in October to ban Apple Watch models over a patented technology for detecting blood-oxygen levels.

However, Apple withstand that the ITC finding was in error and should be reversed, but last week the court paused its sales of the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 in the country.

The decision by the US court has been taken just ahead of the long holiday season. The move came into effect on the online Apple store on December 21, and for retail locations on December 24. The last days to buy Apple watch in the store was till Christmas eve.

Apple will go to court

Apple plans to file an appeal with the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit against the ban, which was imposed by the US International Trade Commission due to a patent dispute. Additionally, the business filed an emergency request on Tuesday asking the court to lift the ban on watch sales while it reviews its appeal.
