Update (July 24, 4:25 pm): Twitter has officially replaced its recognisable blue bird logo with the letter ‘X’ marking the major shift since Elon Musk’s takeover of the multi-blogging site.

This came after Musk’s weekend announcement. The website has already displayed the change. Notably, Musk noted that x.com now points to twitter.com as well. In the post, Musk also referred to this design as an ‘interim’ one, suggesting that there may be other logo changes in the future.

“Our headquarters tonight,” he tweeted. Whereas the company’s CEO Linda Yaccarino captioned the same image with “Lights. Camera. X!”

According to a tweet from the company’s CEO Linda Yaccarino, X will advance this transformation by focusing on features “centred in audio, video, messaging, payment/banking” and creating a “global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”

Twitter soon to get new logo, deets inside

The iconic blue bird logo to fly soon from Twitter as ‘X.com’ now redirects users to the micro-blogging site. Announcing it late Sunday night, Elon Musk wrote, “X.com now points to https://twitter.com/. Interim X logo goes live later today.”

The Tesla founder last year said that the takeover of Twitter was “an accelerant to creating X,” referring to the company that he found in 1999.

Through his social media handle, he also expressed that users who were habitual of seeing blue bird on Twitter should prepare themselves to pay adieu to it. And get ready to welcome the new ‘X’.

In a string of tweets, he also mentioned that the new logo will go live tomorrow.

“Exceptionally rare”: Linda Yaccarino

Linda Yaccarino who took over as CEO of Twitter few months back, called it exceptionally rare. Expressing her thoughts, she wrote on her official Twitter handle, “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

“For years, fans and critics alike have pushed Twitter to dream bigger, to innovate faster, and to fulfill our great potential. X will do that and more. We’ve already started to see X take shape over the past 8 months through our rapid feature launches, but we’re just getting started,” added to this.

She further mentioned, “There’s absolutely no limit to this transformation. X will be the platform that can deliver, well….everything. @elonmusk and I are looking forward to working with our teams and every single one of our partners to bring X to the world.”
