The micro-blogging site Twitter has announced that its paid service of Twitter Blue is now extended to more than 20 countries. Last month, the company launched its Blue subscription service in 6 countries, including Saudi Arabia, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal and Spain. With the expansion this service, the Blue subscription is now available in over 35 countries. Twitter Blue was launched in December last year, after Elon Musk ascended as chief of the popular social media platform.

The premium service will now be available in many countries, which includes Polnad, Netherlands, Belgium, Czech Republic, Sweden, Ireland, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Austria, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Hungary, Latvia, Slovenia, Slovakia, Croatia, Luxembourg, Malta, Cyprus and Estonia. According to the information, users have to pay a minimal amount of eight dollars to avail the service which will include the Blue verification tick also.

In the past few months, Twitter introduced some of the exclusive features also such as 4000 long characters tweets, 60-minute-long videos for Blue subscribers and priority conversations are also included in this. A thread reader, edit a tweet and bookmark folders are the additional features of this service.

Twitter’s Blue service was rolled out on December 12 last year by the company. At the initial stage, to expand the customer base, Elon Musk-owned application rolled out the annual subscription in January. They also introduced an annual plan for iOS for USD 11 and USD 8 for Android users.

Reportedly, the Musk’s way of generating revenue for the company has not met expectations. Twitter Blue has less than 300,000 subscribers. Meanwhile, Twitter in a tweet, announced that the company is expanding its Community notes feature into new languages. In fact, they said that the feature is now available for users of Brazil. He also hinted that support for Japan and some Spanish speaking countries. Feature was made available to users across the UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand earlier this year.

Meanwhile, following the layoffs, the company has laid off Twitter Product Manager Esther Crawford. He has led various projects at Twitter, including the company’s blue service and forthcoming payment platforms. As per the information, more than 50 employees were impacted by the layoffs, which were across departments.

Twitter Blue in India

Twitter Blue, in India is available at a monthly fee of Rs 650 on the web and Rs 900 on mobile devices. But, the blogging platform also offers a discount on the annual plan of Rs 6,800 per year, which comes to Rs 566.67 per month.
