The geosocial networking and online dating software Tinder is very well-liked by young people. However, using a mobile dating app to find a potential match can get people into trouble if they later find out the other person is a fake.

Considering the risk, Tinder is going to add an extra layer to its photo verification process in the coming months. The new version is designed to help users stay safe while using the app and meet new people without their profile being visible to other users.

To ensure that users can meet people without being found by other users, the incognito Mode was created. In this mode, any users who haven’t swiped right will not see the user’s profile. The visibility of a user’s profile can also be changed from “public” to “private,” giving them additional control over who can view it.

Tinder has added extra safety precautions to the app to guarantee user security while using it. One of them is a new moderation system that will aid in flagging any offensive or improper content, and another is updated algorithms that will help detect and flag any phoney or malicious accounts more effectively. With the new long press reporting feature, users may tap and hold objectionable messages to open the reporting flow right in the chat window.

In addition to the safety list, Tinder has also announced the release of the ‘Safe Mode’ which will allow the user to block anyone that they do not want to talk to, as well as can report any suspicious activity. This feature will ensure that the user is kept safe while using the app.

After the announcement of the safety features, it is clear that the company is taking steps forward for the safety of the users.

All about the dating app

Tinder was founded in 2012 and is currently a member of the Match Group. It uses a freemium business model, which means that basic features are free but the user has to pay the subscription fee for the advanced features.

For creating a profile, users of Tinder have to upload an image and provide a short bio, and then they swipe right on the profiles of other users who catch their attention. A “match” occurs when two users swipe right on the app, at which point they can communicate with one another. Additionally, users have the option to pay for Tinder Plus, Gold, or Platinum subscriptions, which offer extra features like the ability to “undo” a swipe or view who has liked your profile.

Tinder subscription cost

In India, a user has to pay Rs 355 as a monthly charge for using the app. For the period of 6 months, it is Rs 1,418 and Rs 2,128 annually.

The app can be downloaded for free from the app store and a user can also visit the official website.
