The founder and CEO of messaging app Telegram will soon launch the stories feature on demand of its users. Pavel Durov, the CEO of the platform announced that the feature currently is in testing mode and will be out by July this year.Durov said that initially they planned not to have this option as it is already on all the platforms, but notably his company has received many requests for the additional feature.More than half of the feature requests that Durov receives are connected to Stories, he claimed on his Telegram channel. This function is available on Facebook and Instagram for Meta. The inventor of Telegram also stated that the Stories feature will make the app more social and enjoyable while unveiling the update. The user can choose whether everyone, only contacts, a small number of carefully chosen contacts, or a list of close friends are allowed to access his or her Stories.According to Durov, the Stories will be conveniently accessible at the top of the conversation list in an expanded section. A user will be able to quickly hide Stories and move them to the Contacts sections Hidden list.According to the sources, the Stories feature will not only have photo and video-editing tools but will also enable captions to add more context or links and tag other people. The users will get an option to post photos and videos taken by front and rear cameras simultaneously.
