Apple iPhone 16: While the iPhone 15 series still holds the spotlight, whispers about the iPhone 16 have begun to circulate, leaving Apple enthusiasts in eager anticipation.

However, recent rumours might throw a curveball, especially if you're expecting a high refresh rate display that's become standard in flagship smartphones under Rs 70,000.

Shocker for Fans: A 60Hz Display for iPhone 16?

The latest buzz suggests that both the standard iPhone 16 and its Plus variant will feature a 60Hz display refresh rate. This is somewhat surprising as competitors in the same price range typically offer a 120 Hz refresh rate. Apple, with its iPhone 15 Series, had already introduced a 60 Hz refresh rate, holding back on the upgrade for non-Pro models.

Now, sources from South Korean tech site Naver and Twitter leaker @Tech_Reve hint that this trend might continue with the iPhone 16 series.

The Pro Model Exception: A Silver Lining?

If speculations hold true, the standard iPhone 16 might boast a 6.12-inch display, while the Plus variant could offer a larger 6.69-inch screen, both with a 60 Hz refresh rate. However, the Pro model is expected to break away from this norm with a 120 Hz refresh rate, likely resulting in a more expansive screen.

This deviation from competitors like Samsung and Google, who have embraced higher refresh rates even in their standard models, might be a letdown for Apple fans.

Balancing Act: Lower Refresh Rate's Pros and Cons

While a lower refresh rate can be a relief for factors like extended battery life and a potentially lower price point, the concern arises over the overall user experience. In a market where mid-range smartphones from brands like Motorola offer 144 Hz refresh rates, Apple's adherence to 60 Hz may seem conservative.

The Verdict: Will iPhone 16 Live Up to Expectations?

Apple, as of now, has not officially commented on the rumours surrounding the iPhone 16's display. The speculations leave users in suspense, and only at the time of the official launch will the company's stance on the refresh rate dilemma be revealed.
