Opera, the company behind the popular Opera One browser, announced a new initiative called the AI Feature Drops Programme. This program allows users to test upcoming artificial intelligence (AI) features before they are released to the public. Opera One is known for its built-in AI capabilities, powered by the companys own Composer AI engine. It is different from some competitor browsers that rely on external AI models. What are the features of new Opera OneComposer AI underpins features like the Aria chatbot, which can answer questions, generate text formats like emails and essays, write code, plan trips, and more. Aria can even access real-time information through its internet connection. The AI Feature Drops Programme lets users get involved in the development process. By signing up, they can access the developer build of the browser, which will receive new AI features every two weeks. This allows users to test these features early and provide feedback to Opera.AI is evolving rapidly, and so are we, said Krystian Kolondra, EVP at Opera. The AI Feature Drops Programme opens the door for our most engaged users to test our newest AI developments and share their input. This helps us shape the future of AI in the Opera One browser. While Composer AI powers Opera Ones core AI features, the Aria chatbot itself utilizes a leading GPT-based solution through a GPT API. This means Opera leverages existing technology for the chatbots foundation, but then tailors it with its own AI engine to offer additional functionalities. Launched in April 2023, Opera One represents a significant redesign of the classic Opera browser, placing AI at its center. This new program further emphasizes Operas commitment to user involvement and continuous development in the realm of AI-powered browsing experiences.
