Nvidia Corp., the manufacturer of the chipsets that drive the popular AI chatbot ChatGPT, has partnered with two of India’s largest conglomerates to build an extensive platform for artificial intelligence in the country with the highest population. In order to develop an infrastructure-as-a-service model and an AI service platform, the American chipmaker has partnered with Reliance Industries Ltd. and the Tata Group.

The global Generative AI race is in full steam,” Jensen Huang, founder and chief executive at Nvidia, said in a statement. “Data centres worldwide are shifting to GPU computing to build energy-efficient infrastructure to support the exponential demand for Gen AI”.

Nvidia-Tata Deal

The AI cloud that will be created in India by Tata Communications Ltd. and Nvidia will provide the essential support systems needed to enable the next phase of computing. High-speed data transfer for businesses will be the result of that. The generative AI applications will be created and processed by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. using the AI infrastructure, and the company will work with clients using an AI-first strategy. Additionaly, TCS will also upskill its 6,000 employees with the help of partnership.

N. Chandrasekaran, chairman of the Tata Group, emphasized how important AI is as a trend for both businesses and society. According to him, the partnership with NVIDIA will “democratize access to AI infrastructure, accelerate the build-out of AI solutions, and enable the upgrading of AI talent at scale”.

Reliance-Nvidia Deal

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. will have access to Nvidia’s most cutting-edge supercomputing service on the cloud to develop AI applications for its 450 million telecom subscribers as well as stakeholders in India’s technology sector. The AI infrastructure will be stored in 2,000 MW-capable data centers with AI-ready computing. Jio will be in charge of execution and implementation.

The partnership with Nvidia is in line with Jio’s strategy to act as a significant, comprehensive, digital, cloud, and networking platform for both consumers and corporate clients.
“At Jio, we are committed to democratizing access to cutting-edge technologies and igniting India’s technology renaissance, and our collaboration with Nvidia is a significant step in this direction,” said Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio. He said, ” Together we will build a cutting-edge, secure, sustainable, and deeply relevant AI cloud infrastructure across India, accelerating the country’s path to becoming an AI powerhouse”.
