Meta founder and CEO of WhatsApp, Mark Zuckerburg has announced another feature called ‘Chat Lock’ which will make the conversations of the user even more private.

This feature will allow the user to protect their personal conversations with a password, which will help in securing them in a separate folder. While using the feature, if someone messages you and you have that chat locked, the sender’s name and the content of the message will also be hidden.

The CEO of the company is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that WhatsApp users enjoy full privacy while using the app. The ‘Chat Lock’ feature will help the user to do the conversations without any hassles.

According to the official press release, the feature will help people who share their mobile phones with family members or if someone messages them when the phone is not with them.

Taking it to Twitter, the company announced the new feature through an animated video, “🆕 privacy feature just dropped 🔒 With Chat Lock, now you can keep your most private and personal conversations under lock and key with a password.”

By tapping a one-to-one group’s name and selecting the lock option, users can lock chats. What should you do to make the chats public? “Slowly pull down on your inbox and enter the phone password or biometric.”

According to Zuckerberg, this feature will be further improved. Additional security settings will also be accessible, such as locking auxiliary devices and setting a unique password for your chats (different from your phone so you have the highest level of safety).

Other features rolled out by WhatsApp

Before this, the CEO of the company, in March launched new features for the groups on WhatsApp. So, the admin can get more control over the privacy of their group. The feature gave the authorisation to the group admins to delete the messages sent in the groups. This will also help the admin to decide on, whether a person can join the group or not.

The company also mentioned that the new feature will keep rolling out.
