The two new smartphones, Redmi Note 12 4G and Redmi 12C have been launched by Xiaomi with a price range starting at Rs 8,999. On the other side, Motorola launched Moto G13 with some great specifications at Rs 9,499. Let’s learn more about these two variants of budget smartphones with some great features.

Redmi Note 12 4G and Redmi 12C

Xiaomi India has updated its Redmi Note 12 series with the Redmi Note 12 4G smartphone. For clients on a tight budget, the company has also released the Redmi 12C. While smartphones lack 5G, Xiaomi is experimenting with colour combinations to attract younger users. The Redmi 12C is a cheaper option with fewer features. Note 12 includes an AMOLED display, 33W rapid charging, and a 50-megapixel main camera. The Sunrise Gold colour choice is exclusive to the India model of the Redmi Note 12 4G and is not available in the international edition.

In India, the Redmi 12C begins at Rs. 8,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64 GB of storage. The other model, with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, is priced at Rs 10,999. The Redmi Note 12 is priced at Rs 14,999 for the base model (64GB storage). Its 6GB and 128 GB of storage models would cost Rs 16,999. As part of the Xiaomi Fan Festival Special, Xiaomi will also provide bank offers.

Although being a low-cost gadget, the Redmi 12C prioritises design, which may please a wide range of buyers. The back panel is textured and equipped with a fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The Helio G85 chipset and a 5,000mAh lithium battery power the Redmi 12C. Nevertheless, the phone has a micro USB charging connector (10W), although smartphones are heading towards the universal USB-C port.

A 50-megapixel primary sensor and an additional sensor are included in the back camera. The 5-megapixel front camera is positioned in a water drop-style notch on the 6.7-inch display. The display features a regular LCD panel with HD+ resolution. Additional notable features include up to 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, dual-SIM card compatibility, and MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The Redmi Note 12 boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a Full-HD+ resolution. The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 685 Processor, 6GB of RAM (LPDDR4X), and up to 128GB of storage. A 50 MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera lens, and a 2MP macro camera comprise the rear camera. The Redmi Note 12 5G, on the other hand, lacks an ultra-wide camera capable of capturing a broad field of view. The Redmi Note 12 also has Android 13, a headphone jack, and an IP53-rated design.

Motorola’s Moto G13

The device is powered by MediaTek’s mid-range gaming engine and has a starting price of Rs 9,499 in India. The smartphone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery and runs Android 13.

The octa-core MediaTek Helio G85 chipset powers the all-new Moto G13. The MediaTek Helio G85 is equipped with an Arm Mali-G52 GPU with a maximum clock speed of 1GHz. The Helio G85 supports wide-angle, telescopic, and macro lenses, as well as sensor sizes up to 48MP. The camera feature includes video. A depth engine for dual-camera bokeh and video capture at up to 240fps. There is compatibility for twin 4G SIM cards in terms of connectivity.

It has a triple back camera setup that includes a 50 MP primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, a 2MP depth camera, and a 2MP macro camera. A front-facing 8MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture. The Moto G13 sports a 6.5-inch HD+ screen with a resolution of 720×1600 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 90Hz and is protected by a layer of Panda glass on top. The Moto G13 supports dual SIM cards and runs the Android 13 os. The manufacturer also stated that the device would receive the Android 14 update, as well as a maximum of three years of regular security updates. The Moto G13 has microSD card capability, and users can install a microSD card with a capacity of up to 1TB. The smartphone is available in two configurations: 4GB+128GB and 4GB+64GB.
