While addressing a post-Budget webinar on ‘Unleashing the Potential: Ease of Living Using Technology’, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said technology is being used to make the tax system faceless to address problems faced by taxpayers.

He also mentioned that India is creating a modern digital infrastructure, and ensuring that the benefits of the digital revolution reach everyone. Technology formed the base of One Nation One Ration, he said adding that the JAM (Jan Dhan Yojana, Aadhaar and Mobile number) trinity helped in giving benefits to the poor.

He added that India of the 21st century is constantly empowering its citizens with the use of technology. he insisted that every budget in the past few years has focused in the ease of living with the help of technology.

He claimed that emerging technologies like 5G and AI (Artificial Intelligence) are under discussion and on the verge of revolutionising a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, and agriculture. The prime minister urged participants to list 10 issues that affect the average person that can be resolved with AI. “The youth of the nation should come forward to utilise the technology in the best possible way so as to afford the best solutions to our problems; organising the hackathons in the country has been the excellent endeavour in this direction,” he added.

Our priority ‘Zero Defect, Zero Effect’

PM said that there should be no compromise in our quality and technology can help a lot in that. With the help of technology, we can bring products in a very finished way into production and only then we can capture the global market. The 21st century is a technology driven century. The sooner we spread it, the sooner we make it simple and the sooner we make it empowering to the general public, the better the country and the people will be.

“Only government has all the know-how is neither our belief nor claim. So, I urge all stakeholders to come and contribute their best in this technology-driven 21st century,” he added.

Previous Post-Budget addressed by PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted 12 post-budget webinars starting on 23 February, which will conclude on March 11. He said that it has been a tradition that after the budget, there is a discussion in Parliament regarding the budget. However, our government has taken the discussion on the budget a step further. For the past few years, our government has started a new tradition of intensive brainstorming with all the stakeholders before and after budget preparation. Good governance is the first condition for the success of any government policy or programme. Governance should be sensitive and dedicated. When there is proper monitoring of works, their efficiency and timely completion becomes highly possible.’

PM Modi said that a provision of thousands of crores of rupees has been made in the budget to fulfill the targets, earlier only 3 crores of households were getting tap drinking water but now it has been increased to 11 crores. In this year’s budget, we have made a provision of 80 thousand crore rupees for the houses of the poor for which we have to speed up the campaign for housing for all.

Also, if we ensure startups and allied workshops for digital marketing at the school level itself, we will definitely get excellent results. It will also help students from tribal communities. Once the students pass out from the Eklavya Model Schools, they already have expertise on how to market and promote their tribal products. We have to increase the power of the poor in such a way that they can defeat the poverty.

PM Modi said that we are on a mission to provide facilities to tribal people in more than 200 districts and more than 22,000 villages across the country. We need to think ahead and focus more on implementation and ensure maximum use of technology as possible. We need to ensure transparency so that beneficiaries can avail of facilities in a fair, efficient and time-bound manner.
