Google is planning to crack down on employees who are not adhering to policies of hybrid mode and has asked them to come to the office thrice a week.On Wednesday, Googles chief people officer, Fiona Cicconi, wrote to team members to emphasise that there is “just no substitute for coming together in person.” She said that the remote option would also function, but only in certain circumstances. She added, “For those who are remote and who live near a Google office, we hope you will consider switching to a hybrid schedule. Our offices are where you will be most connected to our community.”The corporation with its headquarters in Mountain View, California amended its hybrid work policy on Wednesday as well. Todays measures include keeping track of workplace badge wearers, confronting employees who show up late or on days they arent supposed to, incorporating attendance in performance appraisals, etc.The software giant will conduct periodic checks to determine whether workers are continuing to work from offices in the United States. Executives are presently studying regional standards for additional nations before they start conducting checks. Finally, Googles human resources team will get in touch if a worker continues to violate the policy over a sustained period to discuss the “next steps”.
