Samsung has announced plans to extend select Galaxy AI features to its older flagship devices through an upcoming software update. The Galaxy AI features are set to debut next month with the One UI 6.1 update for Samsung's flagship smartphones and tablets. This information comes from a report by 9to5Google, which cites a Samsung representative who shared details on the company’s community forum in Korea.

The version of One UI 6.1 rolling out to these older devices will have some variations compared to other versions. Notably, it will exclude the Slow-Mo feature. This update is specifically designed for Samsung's flagship lineup from 2022, encompassing devices like the S22 series, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 4, Tab S8, and Tab S8 Ultra. These devices will receive the same version of Galaxy AI seen on the Galaxy S23 FE.

Galaxy AI Features

Among the notable Galaxy AI features is Instant Slow-Mo, introduced with the S24 line and now making its way to the S23 models. This feature allows users to play a video in slow motion with a simple tap.

Moreover, owners of 2021 Samsung flagship phones are in for an upgrade. The upcoming update will introduce two new Galaxy AI features, Circle to Search and Magic Rewrite, to models such as the S21 series, Flip 3, and Fold 3.

Recent Updates and Rollout

Samsung has recently rolled out the One UI 6.1 update to devices like the Galaxy S23 series, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, and Galaxy Z Flip 5 in the US, starting from March 28. Additionally, the update has reached the "Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra, Tab S9 , and Tab S9 WiFi versions." The majority of users are expected to receive this update during April.

Global Rollout and Update Details

While Samsung hasn't specified details about the global rollout, it is anticipated to be available worldwide by the end of this month. This update marks a significant enhancement to the Android 14-based One UI 6.0, initially launched in October 2023.
