Elon Musk, the owner and CTO of the X social media platform formerly known as Twitter, has announced that his proposed fighting match against Meta’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg, will be live-streamed on X, with the proceeds from the event being donated to charity for veterans.

“Zuck v Musk fight will be live-streamed on 𝕏. All proceeds will go to charity for veterans,” Musk wrote on his Twitter handle.

Earlier, Musk shared his preparations for the fight, revealing that he is incorporating weightlifting into his work routine due to time constraints for regular workouts.

“[I] Am lifting weights throughout the day, preparing for the fight. Don’t have time to work out, so I just bring them to work,” Musk wrote.

Replying to a user’s question about the purpose of the fight between the tech moguls, Musk responded, “It’s a civilized form of war. Men love war.”

The anticipated showdown between the two tech giants has been a topic of discussion since last month when Musk issued a challenge to Zuckerberg for a fight.

Musk-Zuck rivalry linked to X CTO’s ‘taunting’, Meta’s launch of Threads

Musk had previously posted on the X platform that he would be willing to engage in a ‘cage fight’ with Zuckerberg. In response, the 39-year-old Meta chief, an amateur mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, shared Musk’s tweet on Instagram Stories and added the caption, “Send me location.”

Musk replied that the fight will take place in Las Vegas’s UFC Apex arena, also known as the ‘Octagon’.

This challenge from Musk arose amid reports of Meta’s plans for a new ‘text sharing’ social media network. Meta eventually introduced the Threads app, which is almost identical to Twitter in terms of features.

According to a report from the tech outlet The Verge, Musk has been ‘taunting’ Zuckerberg on Twitter, prompting Meta’s chief product officer, Chris Cox, to inform employees that the company believes creators desire a version of Twitter that is ‘sanely run’. Following this, Meta launched Threads, which initially garnered significant user interest before stabilizing.

While Musk has been incorporating weight lifting into his work routine, Zuckerberg recently won a jiu-jitsu tournament and completed the challenging ‘Murph Challenge’ workout while wearing a weighted vest.
