Tech News: On Saturday, there was a big outage in the UPI (Unified Payments Interface) system, causing problems in digital payments to millions of users across the country. Major apps such as Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay stopped working, which hindered payment transactions and fund transfer. Users complained of this problem on social media and downdetector, and more than 1,200 reports were revealed by 12 noon.

Paytm, PhonePe & Google Pay doesn't work

The technical flaw in the UPI system caused a lot of trouble in digital payments across the country. Millions of users complained of obstruction of transactions on major apps like Paytm, PhonePe, and Google Pay. This outage not only affected individual users, but also created problems for businesses, which depend on digital payments. Earlier, the UPI has seen technical flaws, causing damage to confidence in the payment system. Users are now expecting an immediate solution from NPCI, so that there are no such problems in future.

Problems in payments and transfer

Users reported that due to the UPI network down, they were not able to make payments. According to data from Downdetetor, 66% of users had problems with payments, while 34% were obstructed fund transfer. The problem was seen on various banks and apps, which indicates a technical flaw in the UPI network.

No official statement from NPCI

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) has not issued any official statement on this matter so far. However, users say the problem started in the morning. Similar outages were seen in March 2025, which the NPCI described as "intermittent technical issue".

Alternative payments and solutions

When UPI is not working, users have been advised to use alternative payment options like IMPS, NEFT, and RTGS. In addition, BHIM app or related bank apps can also be used. In addition, keeping cash or card payments as backup can be a good option.
