The highly anticipated Apple iPhone 15 series was finally launched on September 12, in the ‘Wonderlust’ event. The event also saw the launch of other products such as the Apple Watch Series 9 as well as the second-generation Apple Watch Ultra which bring improvements including newer processors and functionality.

Apple had also announced iOS 17, iPadOS 17, macOS Sonoma, watchOS 10 and tvOS 17 at the Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2023 in June this year. These updates will be available from September 18 for all users. In the event, Apple CEO Tim Cook also confirmed d that the Apple Vision Pro augmented reality headset, which was first demoed at the Worldwide Developer Conference WWDC this summer, is on course to go on sale in early 2024.

moreover, this launch also announced that the high giant is doing away with the iconic Lightning port and cables. This change came after the European Union regulated the standardisation of USB-C as the charging port on smartphones, computing devices and broader personal technology gadgets.

Apple iPhone 15 series features 

The iPhone 15 series will have four models which include iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.

• The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are now made of aerospace grade aluminium, colour infused glass at the back, and metallic ions for colour saturation while the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max get a new titanium
• New colours have also been launched- Pink, Yellow and Green. The new series will be available in a total of 5 colours including Blue and Black.
• The performance upgrade brings in the A16 Bionic chip, in the new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models while Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max will have Apple iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max making the pro models the first smartphones to launch with an advanced 3nm architecture.
• The display size remains the same at 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch but the Super Retina XDR display is now brighter.
• Apple also removed the notch from its newest model and has replaced it with the Dynamic Island cut-out.
• While the dual camera setup is still there, the big upgrade is the main camera which will have a new 48 MP lens which is four times more than the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus.
• The camera sensors on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will have a 48MP primary lens but Apple claims the sensor is larger than the one used in Apple iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus
• The Pro Max models will also have a periscope lens that allows for 5x optical zoom compared to 3x on the iPhone 15 Pro and 2x on the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus.
• This series also does away with the iconic Lightning port and cables.

Pricing of iPhone 15 series in India

The new iPhone 15 series will start at Rs 79,900 for the 128GB model of iPhone 15 whereas the iPhone 15 Plus model starts at Rs 89,900 for the 128 GB model.

• iPhone 15 (256 GB): Rs 89,900
• iPhone 15 (512GB): Rs 1,09,900
• iPhone 15 Plus (128 GB): Rs 89,900
• iPhone 15 Plus (256 GB): Rs 99,900
• iPhone 15 Plus (512 GB): Rs 1,19,900

The iPhone 15 Pro starts for Rs 1,34,900 for the 128GB model and the iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at Rs 1,59,900 for the 256 GB model.

• iPhone 15 Pro(256 GB): Rs 1,44,900
• iPhone 15 Pro(512GB): Rs 1,64,900

Moreover, Apple Inc plans to make iPhone 15, manufactured in India, available in the South Asian country. Other than made-in-India iPhones, rest of the phones will come from China., according to media reports.
