Back in 2021, Amazon asked their customers to pay Rs 1499 as an annual subscription for the Prime membership which was earlier available at Rs 999 annually. And, now the e-commerce platform has again increased the prices for the monthly and quarterly subscriptions to be part of the Prime membership. However, the annual plan remains unchanged this time. So, if you are planning to buy one, you have to pay more for the subscription.
The platform has increased the prices silently. Reportedly, the monthly subscription cost has gone up from Rs 179 to Rs 299, while the users have to pay Rs 599 for the three-month subscription. However, the annual subscription sees no change, it will still cost Rs 1,499.
The monthly Prime subscription remains free for first-time customers. The new costs will be paid for by frequent users. Amazon India appears to be encouraging more people to purchase the yearly membership by raising the costs of the monthly and quarterly plans, which currently appear to be a good deal. Apart from this Prime Lite is available at the membership cost of Rs 999 only.
The company just introduced an inexpensive Prime Light membership for Rs 999 annually. With this package, you may access Prime Video in SD resolution on up to two devices and get free two-day delivery. However, unlike the standard Prime subscription, it does not include access to Prime Music or Prime Gaming.
Amazon Prime offers a wide range of benefits and services to the customer in a single subscription. This includes access to the Prime videos available on the Over-the-top (OTT) platform (up to 4K resolution), unlimited access to Prime Music for over 100+ million songs, a free rotation selection of over 3000 books and magazines with Prime reading and free one-day delivery on most of the products. The company also offers free games and in-game loot for free in the recently launched Prime Gaming.
A 1-month subscription to Amazon Prime will cost Rs 299
3 monthly subscriptions will cost Rs 599
Annual subscription to Amazon Prime: Rs 1,499
Whereas, an Amazon Prime Lite subscription will cost Rs 999 annually.
Both monthly and 3-month plans come with an auto-renewable system, which gets renewed automatically if users do not end the subscription. And, according to the information, the users can continue to get the Prime membership at the old prices till January 14, 2024. But, if in case the auto-renewable fails for some reason or if the user unsubscribes from the membership, they will be charged at the new prices if they buy it again.
