Incident Details

On Monday morning, the villagers found the broken idols in the temple and immediately got enraged. The idols in the other four temples of the village were also broken. CO Charra Shubendu Singh and SDM Atrauli Mahima Singh visited the site and assured the villagers that new idols would be installed in place of the broken ones by Tuesday.

Sage Sumer Muni, who lives at the temple, told the media that he was away in a village when the incident occurred. He suspected that an unknown youth was responsible for the vandalism. On behalf of the monk, a complaint was filed against the unknown culprit.
