The wrestling portion would be decided by the nine-member committee.”

Youth Congress took out a candle march

The youth wing of the Congress party took out a candle march to support the protesting wrestlers at Jantar Mantar and demanded justice for them. Srinivas BV, the president of the Indian Youth Congress, lashed out at BJP saying that the ‘Beti Bachao’ slogan is just hypocrisy. He referred to what was taking place at Jantar Mantar with the nation’s female athletes as being quite humiliating.

Krishna Allavaru, the joint secretary of the AICC and national coordinator for the IYC, said, “The country is very pained to see the tears of women athletes who have brought medals to the nation and their families with their hard work and commitment. The daughters of the nation have been wailing and suffering for the past 14 days, but the government has remained inactive and the Delhi Police has treated them unfairly.”
