In the 17th game of ICC ODI Cricket World Cup 2023, India and Bangladesh are playing a crucial encounter at Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.

Bangladesh’s skipper won the toss and opted to bat first. A crucial moment came in the game when Indian skipper Rohit Sharma introduced Hardik Pandya into the attack. However, Hardik suffered an injury after he tried to stop the ball with his leg and had to limp off the field after bowling just three balls in which Liton Das smashed him for two consecutive boundaries.

Virat Kohli bowls

Interestingly, Rohit Sharma called Virat Kohli to complete the over. Indian stalwart received a huge reception from the huge crowd. The crowd goes berserk after seeing Virat bowling some medium-pace deliveries. Although, he bowled just three remaining deliveries to finish the over.

Virat was bowling after an interval of six years in ODI cricket.

Hardik Pandya suffers injury

While everyone at Pune enjoyed Kohli’s brief bowling spell, the Indian Cricket Team (ICT) will be worried about Hardik’s injury. The allrounder attempted to stop a Litton Das straight drive with his leg, while the ball was traveling at a great speed. However, he didn’t succeed as the ball raced away to the fence. To make matters worse, Hardik twisted his left ankle.

After getting medical attention, Hardik was taped up quickly but failed to run as he felt discomfort, which forced him to leave the field.
