New Zealand won the toss and opted to bowl first against Bangladesh in the eleventh match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

New Zealand’s regular skipper Kane Williamson is back to his services after missing a couple of matches in the multinational event. Batter Will Young has been excluded from the playing XI while, Mahmudullah has been included in the playing XI replacing Mahedi Hasan.

Early breakthroughs

Trent Boult started the proceedings, striking on the very first ball of the innings dismissing Bangaldesh’s explosive batter Litton Das, who tried to wip the ball from the leg stump and caught on the square leg side by Litton Das.

Bangladesh slips the ground quite easily after the Kiwi speedster Lockie Ferguson dismisses Tanzid Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz cheaply. Although Mehidy Hasan Miraz failed to convert to into big innings despite getting a good start. He was dismissed after scoring 30 runs off 46 deliveries.

Bangladesh 73/4 in 15 overs

The part-time baller Glenn Phillips also struck in his first ball of his spell dismissing Najmul Hossain Shanto for just 7 runs. Bangladesh has scored 73 runs after losing 4 wickets in 15 overs.
